The City of Wheaton prohibits parking on all streets from 2:00 am until 6:00 am. (This includes ALL streets and courts in Briarcliffe West). If there are vehicles parked in the streets during these hours, they will be ticketed, and the fines will be as follows:

- 1st ticket- $10.00 and 10 days to pay.
- After 10 days, if ticket is not paid, the fine is $15.00 and 10 to pay.
- If ticket is not paid after second 10 day period, $20.00 and 10 days
to pay.
- If ticket is not paid after 3rd grace period, the violator will be turned over to a collection agency.
- Fire lane signs will be enforced 24 hours a day. The fine is $50.00 for each violation.

USE OF STREETS

Parking of boats, trailers, or motor homes in the driveways or on the streets within Briarcliffe West is prohibited. Unlicensed, inoperable, or legally non-compliant motor vehicles are prohibited in the driveways or on the streets.

An exception will be made for short-term parking (no more than 48 hours) on driveways of recreational trailers (boat on trailer, snowmobiles on trailer, motorcycles on trailer) and U-Haul type trailers for moving purposes.

Repair or construction work on vehicles is prohibited in driveways and streets of Briarcliffe West.

Resident parking in the driveways and on the streets within Briarcliffe West is restricted to the following types of vehicles: Automobile, motorcycle, motor scooter, pick-up truck, van, and SUV. Commercially licensed trucks are additionally restricted to plate type B.

Expressly prohibited are buses; tractors; trailers; step-box-UPS type delivery vans; and trucks of the following types: flatbed, stake, dump, tilt, box, tow, etc.

Any commercial lettering and/or graphics attached to the vehicle are to be small in size (individual letter size not to exceed 4 inches), unobtrusive, and confined to a small area of the vehicle (not to exceed 1/6 of the surface area of either side and ¼ of the surface area of either the front or back of the vehicle).

No attached or carried machinery or equipment is to be visible on the outside of the vehicle (e.g. trailers, ladders, snowplows, salt spreaders, hoists, cranes, generators, air compressors, pumps, sprayers, loaders, forklifts, etc.)

If you are expecting guests or if you are having special work done and someone will have to park overnight on the street, please contact the Wheaton Police Department at 630-260-2161 for exemption. They will need the make and license plate number of the car(s).
