Residents may not have more than two pets per unit. Pets must be on a leash when on or off the owner's property. Residents letting their pets out onto their own yard must: A. Securely chain or tie their pet in such a manner that the pet will stay within the boundaries of the owner's property. This is a City of Wheaton Ordinance- Police Enforced. Anchors should be secured within a rock or mulch bed to avoid damage to grass areas. NOTE: no chain or other device may be attached to any tree or bush. B. No pets shall be left unattended nor shall the pet be permitted to make noises that disturb any neighbor. This is a City of Wheaton Ordinance- Police Enforced. C. The owner is responsible for picking up all excrement deposited on any public, private, or common property by their pet. This is a City of Wheaton Ordinance- Police Enforced. D. The owner is responsible for any damage to lawns, shrubs, trees or any other property damaged by their pet's chain, urination or defecation. E. Observed
violations of the city ordinance should be reported directly to the police.
