B. In accordance with these Rules and Regulations. C. Done in a manner that minimizes the potential for injury to persons or damage to the building. Satellite dishes in excess of one meter
in diameter are prohibited. Satellite dish placement on the building is prohibited if acceptable quality signal can be obtained by alternate placement such as a pole installation or deck installation. Such alternate placement is prohibited in the front or the sides of the owner's property. Satellite dish placement on the building
is to be on the chimney provided that this restriction does not affect
signal quality or prevent, delay or increase the cost of installation,
maintenance, or use. A. Recommendation: the top most part of the dish should not exceed the height of the chimney enclosure. This is to minimize the exposure to the wind, and thus minimize the strain on both the dish and the chimney enclosure. The only structural framing is in the corners of the chimney enclosure As such the attachment must be through the corner trim boards in order to achieve an on center mount with 2"x4" structural framing. The dish mounting plate must be attached to the chimney enclosure by no less than three lag bolts of adequate length to firmly secure the installation to the framing. As an alternative to directly mounting the dish on the chimney enclosure, the following method may result in a more secure and stable installation. Attach a 1" x 6: piece of exterior grade/treated lumber across the full width of the chimney enclosure. Attach this piece of lumber by means of galvanized nails or screws--no less than three per side -- of adequate size and length to firmly secure the lumber to the framing of the chimney enclosure. The dish mounting plate can then be bolted to the 1" x 6" lumber. The dish

responsibility Unless the dish is sold to the new owner of the unit, owner shall remove the entire dish installation. If the owner does not do so, owner shall bear the cost of removal by the Association. Removal of
the Dish Installation In the
event of installation not in accordance with these rules and regulations
or otherwise expressly approved by the Board, the satellite dish must be
removed upon notice from the Board. If the owner fails to remove the
satellite dish, hen the Board reserves the right to enter on the property
and remove the satellite dish. Any cost incurred by the Association to
removed this satellite dish will be assessed back to the owner. In
addition, the owner shall have the responsibility to restore the property
back to its original condition. In the event the owner fails to do so, the
Board may do so and assess all costs incurred back to the unit owner.

Where the TV is to be placed or drill a hole through a closet ceiling, running the cable into the room under the folding closet doors. Then, in the master bedroom, in the closet corner, run the cable down to the basement through the furnace cold-air return. The top of the cold air return actually extends into the bottom of the closet about 10 inches. In the basement, you can remove a screwed-on metal cap on the cold air return and fish the cable out into the basement. From there it's a simple task to run it over to the wall where the regular cable TV enters the living room, up through the floor near the sliding doors. Now, the satellite guy might NOT want [or, be able to..] do the interior wire runs, but there ARE installers who do *only* interior wire runs. Look in the yellow pages. The TV service guys [satellite or cable] should be told to run the cable down the fireplace enclosure and over to the entry point to the basement, NOT through the second-floor wood siding or over the gutter and through the sofit. |
