Pet
Information Sheet Only one (1) dog, cat, or other usual pet weighing twenty (20) pounds or less shall be kept in a condo unit. There is absolutely no bathing or grooming of pets in any common area. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning any dirt or soil occasioned by the pet on the common areas as well as any damage to any other unit owner’s property. Dog owners must immediately pick up any mess left by the dog in a plastic bag, sealed and deposited in the rubbish containers, which are not to be stored on common areas. This applies to visitor’s dogs. Owners and tenants shall not use their units as pet-sitting service. All dogs must be registered with the property management to include picture, name and breed if possible. Cat litter is to be disposed of in a sealed plastic bag and placed in the rubbish containers. Cats are not allowed to be loose on the common grounds including hallways. Dogs must be on a leash at all times. Owners may not attach, leash or tether to any Common or Limited Common Elements. (i.e. balconies, patios, railings, or any landscaping, light poles or sign post.) Any owner, who has been found guilty of more than one (1) violations of the above rules, shall be deemed to have a pet that creates a nuisance or unreasonable disturbance. The Board, after consideration of the facts and circumstances, may elect to have the pet removed permanently from the property upon three (3) days written notice to owner. The Board’s decision is final and binding. After a second (2) violation, if allowed, a notice will be sent to the Village. FINE: $100.00 per day after notice of eviction of animal. The following is the fine schedule for violations of the pet rules: 1st Offense - $100.00 Fine plus $25.00 per day for every day the violation continues. 2nd Offense - $200.00 Fine plus $25.00 per day for every day the violation continues. 3rd Offense - $300.00 Fine plus $25.00 per day for every day the violation continues. A Unit Owner is responsible for the actions of pets of anyone residing in or visiting his Unit ensure the all village codes are followed. Specific Excrement. Pet
owners must clean up after their pets immediately when walking on common,
private, and city grounds. Owners who do not clean up after his/her pet
will be fined. Restraints. Pets may not be left unattended in the common areas or in garages, even when leashed with a tether. Pets must be leashed at all times while in the Common Area. Nuisance or Damage. No pet shall be allowed to create a nuisance or unreasonable disturbance or to damage any Community Area or the property of any resident. The costs of repairing any damage caused by a pet shall be assessed to the Unit Owner responsible as a Community Expense. FINE: $100.00 per violation plus damages. Any pet causing or creating a nuisance or unreasonable disturbance shall be permanently removed from the Premises upon three (3) days written notice from the Board to the Owner of the Dwelling Unit containing such pet. **** Village of Round Lake Beach Animal Code: Sec. 4-6-6 Dog, cat or miniature pig nuisances prohibited; abatement. A. Defecation.
a. It shall be unlawful for any owner of any dog, cat or miniature pig to permit such dog, cat or miniature pig to defecate on any street, sidewalk, alley or public place in the village, or on any private property, other than that of the dog, cat or miniature pig owner. Such defecation is hereby declared to be a nuisance. b. If any dog, cat or miniature pig shall defecate in violation of this subsection, the owner or person having control of said dog, cat or miniature pig shall immediately clean and remove the said defecation. B. Dogs. It is hereby declared to be a nuisance for the owner of any barking, howling, biting, vicious or dangerous dog to permit such dog to run at large, unattended as above provided, within the limits of the village, and any such person permitting such dog to run at large may be arrested and upon conviction be fined no less than $5.00 nor more than $25.00, and such dog found running at large may be impounded as hereinafter provided. C. Female dog in heat. The owner of any female dog in heat shall keep the same confined or on a leash at all times and shall not permit such dog to be at large in the public ways, streets, parks or other public places in the village or on any premises other than those of the owner. (Ord. No. 95-08-32, 8-21-1995) Sec. 4-6-7-1. Dogs, cats or miniature pigs at large. No owner of a dog, cat or miniature pig shall permit the dog, cat or miniature pig to run at large in any part of the village at any time. Any dog, cat or miniature pig off the premises of the owner and not under the control of the owner or a member of his immediate family of ten years of age, by leash, shall be considered “at large”. “Leash” as used herein, means any cord, thong or chain, not more than ten feet in length by which a dog, cat or miniature pig is controlled by the person accompanying said dog, cat or miniature pig. *A dog, cat or miniature pig within the car of its owner shall be deemed upon the owner’s premises. Any dog, cat or miniature pig found at large in any street of the village, contrary to the provisions of this section shall be impounded as hereinafter provided.
