Garbage, Trash, and Recyclables.  If Garbage is to be put out in covered receptacles, such receptacles should be marked with the corresponding unit address. 

Prevent recyclables from being blown away by

Putting newspapers in paper grocery-type bags or tying them together.  (Delivered newspapers should be picked-up every day).

Collapsing plastic jugs.

Weighting down lighter material by placing heavier material on top.

Recycling bins and garbage containers should also be identified with unit addresses.  Large items such as furniture, appliances and water heaters are not to be   placed in the dumpster area.  They are to be disposed  by private arrangement.

Garbage and recycling bins are to be stored inside garages, out of public site, at all time within the exception of garbage pick-up day.

Material is not to be placed outside for collection any earlier than 24 hours before scheduled pickup. Empty receptacles shall be removed from the right-of-way or pick-up area by 9:00 a.m. of the day following pick-up.  The unit number and/or street address must be on all garbage and recycling containers.  Removal of large, heavy or bulk refuse may be pre-arranged by the individual owner with the garbage disposal company.

There is no littering allowed in any common area. This includes Cigarette butts.

Sec. 6-5-4. Receptacles required.

The owner, proprietor, or tenant of every residence, multi-family dwelling unit, lodging house, or any other place of business or occupation in the village shall have and keep a proper refuse receptacle or receptacles herein defined as: galvanized metal or plastic containers with handles and close fitting lids. 

It shall be unlawful for refuse containers to remain at the front curb/ditchline for a period of more than 24 hours for each scheduled pickup.  The 24-hour period shall include time before and after pickup.

It shall be unlawful for any person, as owner, occupant or agent of any owner or occupant of such place, or as a proprietor or manager of any place of business, to keep or maintain any garbage or refuse matter upon any premised in the village except in the manner above provided.

The franchisee will collect and dispose of household garbage, refuse, recyclables and yard waste from each collection unit once a week starting at 6:00 a.m. Monday through Friday except on holidays.

Yard waste will be collected only if said yard waste is placed in a paper bag, 30 gallon container marked for yard waste only, and bundles of brush not to exceed four feet in length and two feet in diameter and/or any combination thereof.

Recyclables will be collected only if said recyclables are placed in a container provided by franchisee.

No person other than the franchisee licensed by the village shall remove any recyclable material left by the resident of such premises intended for pickup by such franchisee.

Storage.  Permissible outside storage is limited to outside patio furniture or grill only.  No garbage or personal property shall be stored or kept on any patio or deck.  Balconies and patios must not be used as pet runs.  Parking of carriages, bicycles, motorcycles, or any other recreational vehicles on the patio or balcony is strictly prohibited.
