DuBois Paving will be on-site beginning Monday April 14th to begin the asphalt project in the northwest quadrant of the community. Residents will not have access to their driveways or garages until April 18th, weather permitting. Since your garage will be unavailable to use for parking, we ask you to please park along Long Grove Drive or Village Green Drive. In an attempt to keep traffic moving smoothly through the neighborhood, we ask you to keep parking on Shelly to a minimum. Please keep in mind the Rules and Regulations for Prairie Village, only allows parking along the South or East side of Shelly lane and parking on Compton Road is strictly forbidden. Any homeowner who violates the Association’s parking rules may be subject to fines and possible towing.

In an attempt to ensure the longevity of the new asphalt, residents will have to bring their garbage to Shelly Lane for pick up on the following days; April 17th, April 24th, May 1st and May 8th. If you fail to bring your garbage to Shelly Lane for pick up on the days noted, your garbage will not be picked up for the week. Regular garbage pick up will resume on May 15th.

REPLACING GLASS WINDOWS* Before you call vendor, you need two pieces of information: the series number of the windows (probably 8500) and the year they were manufactured. The series number can be found on a gold sticker in the window track. My single hung windows are series 8500. My slider is 8880 which is still part of the 8500 series. The year of manufacture can be found if you press your nose up against the glass and look at the metal portion in between the two layers of glass. You will find the year stamped in very small print. Once you have these two numbers, call 1-800-949-3818. They will then send you the appropriate form.

Be forewarned, the warrantee does not transfer. If you are not the original owner, you will have to pay $35 plus shipping.

WATER INFORMATION
Aurora water is very hard and there is "white sand" coming out of some taps. If this happens to you, unscrew the filter assembly on the end and quite a bit of calcium deposits might pour out.
If you need a plumber, first try running the tap without the filter first. Works great.
