No person
shall own, harbor or keep any type of exotic, farm or dangerous animal.
This includes, but is not limited to: Any lion, tiger, cougar, jaguar, panther, bobcat, mountain lion, lynx, ocelot, leopard or similar feline animal which, when fully grown normally attains a weight of 40 pounds or more. Any wolf, coyote, jackal, fox or wild dog. Any bear or bison. Any cows, chickens, goats, sheep or farm pigs. Any monkey, gorilla, chimpanzee or other similar apelike primate. Cats and dogs within the City Limits must be licensed with both the City of Aurora and the Country in which you reside. City tags are available at the Animal Control and Care Facility at 600 S. River St. County tags are obtained through your local veterinarian. The pet registration tag should be worn on the pet's collar, along with a rabies vaccination tag. This will provide quick and easy identification of your pet should it be brought to the Village animal shelter. No person who owns, keeps or harbors a domestic animal shall cause or permit such animal to run at large within the City. All domestic animals within an enclosure or by a leash not to exceed 6 feet in length. All pet owners are responsible for immediately removing and properly disposing of pet waste on both he common ground and the city property, pursuant to the City of Aurora ordinance. Pets may not be chained, staked or attached to common areas, (including landscape materials) or left unattended in the common areas. The owner is responsible for the actions of pets of anyone occupying or visiting his/her Townhouse Unit and the costs of repairing any damage caused by a pet shall be assessed to the responsible Owner. Any Owner/Occupant who has been found guilty of more than three (3) violations
of the rules regarding pets shall be deemed liable for having a pet which
causes or creates an animal nuisance or unreasonable disturbance within
the meaning of the Declaration and/or applicable City of Aurora ordinance.
Thereafter, the Board, after consideration of the facts and circumstances,
may elect to levy a fine at a level or amount it may determine appropriate
for this nuisance/disturbance.
