POOL RULES FOR THE YEAR 2007

VIOLATION OF SMA POOL RULES 

 Violation of Pool Rules will be dealt with at the discretion of the SMA Board of Directors, SMA Pool Property Manager and the Life Guards.  Such action may include temporary or seasonal restriction of the pool privileges in lieu of or in addition to fines. 

The SMA Board of Directors reserves the right to request proof of residency in the Sheffield Manor Condominium Association or in Sheffield Manor Townhome Association, (now known as Castle Rock). 

No one determined by the SMA Board of Directors and the Managing Agents of either the Sheffield Manor Condominium or the Sheffield Manor Townhome Association, (now known as Castle Rock) to be in arrears in their association dues will be allowed to use the pool. 

The Sheffield Manor Association will not be held responsible for loss of personal property. 

REGULAR HOURS MONDAY – FRIDAY 

11 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

WEEKEND AND HOLIDAY HOURS 

10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

ADULT SWIM HOURS MONDAY – SUNDAY 

8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 

The above hours are from May 26, 2007 to September 3, 2007

with the exception of abbreviated hours as shown below: 

Abbreviated hours due to school days are 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and fall on the following school days:  May 29, 30 & 31, June 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, & 8, and August 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, 30 & 31.   Regular abbreviated hours are 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Adult Swim abbreviated hours are from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for the abbreviated hour days listed above.

  1. All persons must comply with the Illinois State Laws governing swimming pools, which will be posted at the Sheffield Manor Association Pool Office.
     
  1. In the lower pool deck area street shoes, beverages and snack foods are not allowed, with the exception of beverages and snack foods on the “Sun Deck Patio” next to the Adult Swimming Pool.  All beverages must be in plastic, metal, or paper containers for safety reasons.  (NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED AT THE POOL IN ANY AREAS).  No chairs of any kind are allowed on the lower decks around the adult pool.   There will be lounge chairs on the upper decks and the “Sun Deck Patio”.  Beverages and snack foods are also allowed on the Upper Deck area.  New in 2006 – We have opened up the grass area next to the Sun Deck Patio for sun bathing and picnics.  As you leave that area, you must walk over the mats on the sidewalk to the patio. 
     
  1. The entire pool area is a SMOKE FREE ENVIRONMENT with the exception of the “SUN DECK PATIO”.  There will be ashtray dispensers on the Sun Deck Patio and they MUST BE USED by the patrons.  If the ashtrays are not used and the Sun Deck Patio becomes a “garbage dump” for crushed smoking materials, the SMA Board of Directors will revert back to previous rules of no smoking anywhere in the pool area.
     
  1. No glass containers are allowed within the pool-fenced area.
     
  1. Admittance to the pool area will be by membership tag only.  There will be three types of tags:              Children – (White type on Orange base) 10-17 years of age.

Adult – (White type on Blue base) 18 years of age and older.

Guest – (White type on Red base).

There will be a charge of $5.00 to replace any lost or destroyed tag.  They may be ordered only thru Sheffield Manor Association Property Manager at the Pool Office.

 6.      Pool tags are to be worn on the outside of the swimming suit in a place that is  clearly visible at all times.  All persons wearing street clothes must also have a tag clearly visible on their clothing.  If you do not have a tag on the guards will not allow you to stay in the Pool Area.

7.      Street clothes of any type will not be permitted in the water as swim wear, this includes cut offs. 

8.      Running is not allowed within the Pool fenced area.

9.  No standing, hanging or playing on the rope in the Adult Pool.  Also no resident may use the Lifeguard’s Chair.

10.  Children under 10 years of age – MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT RESIDENT (18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER), when they are within the pool premises.

11.  Only members 18 years of age or older are entitled to two (2) guest per tag.  All guest must be accompanied by, and remain with an adult member.  Guests will be expected to abide by the rules set forth, and it shall be the responsibility of the SMA Pool Member to inform his guest.  A fee of $1.00 per guest per day will be charged on weekends (Saturday to Sunday closing) and on Holidays.  Guests under 10 years of age are free.  Daily, when you bring a guest, you must notify the guard and submit your tag (adult only) to the guard on duty.  You will receive a guest tag for yourself and your guest(s) – only two (2) guests per adult tag.  Your adult tag will be returned when you turn in your guest tags at the end of the day.

12.  The only baby equipment allowed in the pool area will be infant seats.  No strollers or wheeled vehicles.  No air mattresses or any type of raft will be allowed in the pool.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  Adults must be in attendance with the children who are using training aids; i.e. water wings, flotation vests.  Only battery powered radios are allowed within the pool fence area.

13.  Infants who are not toilet trained or are in diapers will not be permitted in the adult pool. 

14.  The pools will be open only when the air temperature is above 68 degrees and weather permitting.

15.  The use of profanity (including related gestures) will not be tolerated.  Spitting in the Pool Area will not be tolerated.  This is a family pool environment and the guards have been given instructions to maintain the Pool Area with this in mind. 

 16.  No pets or animals of any kind will be allowed in the pool or the pool area.

 17.  First Aid will be administered on an emergency basis only.  For minor first aid the Parent or Guardian (if patient is under 18 years of age) will be contacted and if they cannot be reached, Schaumburg Paramedics will be contacted to administer treatment.

 18.   Whenever additional rules are deemed advisable for the proper conduct of this Pool plus the protection of the health and safety of its members and guest – the management, guards, and the Board of Directors are authorized to issue and put into effect such rules.

BABY POOL RULES

a.      All children MUST be accompanied and supervised by an adult on the DECK OF THE BABY POOL.  Supervising adults are not to sit on the upper deck.  NO LIFE GUARD IS ON DUTY IN THE BABY POOL.  The responsibility of the child is the supervising adult. 

b.      No child over seven (7) years of age is allowed in the Baby Pool. 

c.       The Board of Directors or the Life Guards on duty must approve any exceptions. 

d.      Diaper clad infants must wear rubber or plastic pants over the diapers, including cloth or disposable.  “Little Swimmers” diapers are allowed and encouraged, as they are manufactured for swimming. 

e.      All Illinois State Laws governing swimming pools must be complied with.  They are posted in the Sheffield Manor Association Pool Office. 

The Board of Directors wants to extend our thanks to all patrons for abiding to the above rules.  We hope that you enjoy the 2007 Pool Season and welcome any new ideas that you may have to improve the safety or swimming pleasure of our members.  There is a log in the Pool Office that you may sign if you want contact with the Pool Board.  Sign your name, reason, phone number and time that we may contact you.  Our Pool Administrator will contact you with in 24 hours.  If you wish to talk with a Pool Director, the Pool Administrator will make the arrangements to allow that to happen. 

All renters please take note that the Pool Tags are not sent to you, but rather to your landlord.  It is the responsibility of the landlord to request and issue tags to their tenants.  Extra sign up cards for Sheffield Manor Association are available in the Pool Office.  Renters are welcome to take one and fill it out for their landlord, but they must have their landlord mail it to the address on the back of the card or the landlord may give it to the Pool Administrator in the Pool Office.
