There has been an increase in the reports of vandalism and thefts in our neighborhood lately. As recently as October 3rd, a unit on our very own Wisteria Drive was burglarized during the overnight hours. One of the most effective ways to deter crimes such as these is to use outdoor lighting. Your new patio light is extremely efficient and costs only pennies a night to operate. It is equipped with a photo cell for your convenience. Simply flip your patio light switch on, and leave leave it on. The light will then automatically turn on at dusk and off at dawn. If we did this simple act, our neighborhood would be well lit and the petty criminals would have to find another neighborhood to target. Leaving your porch light on all night will make your vehicle less of a target, also. As always, if you notice anything or anyone suspicious, please call 911. ------------------ Your Board of Directors have listened to your concerns and suggestions regarding a growing number of parking problems here at Southgate Manors. We are pleased to announce, effective immediately, that we have entered into a towing agreement with Redmond's of Schaumburg, Illinois. If a vehicle is parked in your assigned parking space, without your permission, you may have it towed away at no cost to you. Simply call Redmond's at (847) 895-6162 , and request a tow. When the driver arrives, present a photo ID that shows your current address, sign a tow authorization, and the offending vehicle will be towed to Redmond's facility. The owner of the offending vehicle will have to pay $125.00 to retrieve their vehicle. Please remember, you MUST sign a towing authorization for the tow to take place. Redmond's is available 24 hours a day to tow away vehicles. --------------- SATELLITE DISHES Satellite dish rules and forms have been updated and standardized for uniformity. The rules have not changed. You can download an updated copy here. Application forms related to satellite dish installation can be obtained on the Association's Forms page. When these documents are finalized, updated copies will be mailed to all Owners.
