SNOW PLOWING
PROCEDURES
FOR TRAILS VILLAGE
BY BEST LAWNS, INC.
The snow plowing operation will commence after there has
been at least a two inch snowfall. Snowfalls less than two inches are
only accomplished upon request and authorization of the Association. The
streets and courts are plowed by the Village of Roselle.
The driveways, main sidewalks, and entryway walks are cleared by Best
Lawns.
For snowfalls between two and four inches, Best Lawns will
commence snow plowing on site after the snow has basically stopped to
avoid re-plowing the property. Typically, the work will be completed
approximately six to eight hours after the snowfall has ceased. For
example, if it stops snowing by midnight, the
residents can expect the work to be completed between 6:00 a.m. -- 8:00
a.m. Other than emergencies or special circumstances, please refrain
from contacting Best Lawns or the property manager prior to the
anticipated time of completion. Best Lawns will not respond to any
homeowner or resident phone calls; all inquiries should be directed to
the property manager only!
For snowfalls above
four inches, snow storms and blizzards continuous snow plowing may be
necessary. Best Lawns will clear snow to the best of their ability to
give homeowners adequate access. Driveways will not be hand shoveled
except an eighteen inch strip in front of garage doors. Also during
heavy snowfalls, it is not uncommon for the plow driver to remove the
excess snow at the bottom of the drive first, and then return to do the
rest of the drive later. Sometimes to service the most residences in the
least amount of time, Best Lawns will plow driveway pads where no cars
are parked on the initial pass through the property. If it looks like
most of the drives in your area were plowed, and we did not do yours,
check to see if any cars were parked on or near the driveway pad. I
assure you we will be back to plow all other driveways. The anticipated
time of completion will vary based on the severity and duration of the
snowfall.
Applications of salt or ice melt to de-ice areas that have
resulted from snowfalls, ice storms, freeze/thaw cycles, gutter/roof
runoff, etc. are accomplished upon request and authorization of the
Association's board of directors, representative, or property manager.
Hauling, moving, or removal of snow or snow piles is only accomplished
as requested and authorized by the Association's board of directors,
representative, or property manager.
After the snow plowing is completed, Best Lawns will make a
final pass through the entire Association to see if any parked cars have
been moved. Along with this, we will return to the property the next
business day after
9:00 a.m. to see if
any more cars have been removed.
Also, please do not
place any Christmas lights, extension cords, flower pots, statuary, etc.
across the sidewalks, driveways, or in any other work areas. Please
avoid parking on any streets or over the sidewalks when snowfalls are
eminent. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free
to contact American Community Management at
630-620-1133.
