The university of municipal ordinances and condominium rules governing pet ownership testify to the fact that pets may either enhance or detract from community life to the extent that:

a, One pet owner avoids infringing upon the comfort, haelth, saety, property and tranquility of another or upon non-pet owners; and
b, the reasonable forbearance by all residents that recognizes how important pets are to their owners, and the fact that those owners often cannot possibly completely keep their pets from intruding on the community life.

Improperly cared for and improperly managed pets, however, may pose health and safety threats, damage property and otherwise undermine community property values. The following rules apply:

No animals, other than dogs cats or other animals reasonably considered to be household pets, shall be raised, bred or kept anywhere on the property, nor shall any animals be kept or maintained for any commercial purposes.

All pet owners must clean up immediately after their pet when walking chaining or staking the pet on both common ground and village property. Unit owners that have pets are responsible for replacing damaged areas to grass and /or plant material due to urine burnout. Unit owners willing to replace damaged areas should contact the Association to find out which seed or planting to use and the process to follow in replacing the damaged area. unit owners not willing to replace damaged areas will be assessed the cost to have the Association's Landscape Contractor replace the damage. In addition to any fines levied. The unit owner will be given an itemized bill after completion of the work.

All pets must be leashed at all times while on both common ground and village property. Chaining is allowed (at the unit owner's risk) only in the back of the unit. Owners(s) must be physically in attendance outdoors with their pet. Please remember the rules governing pet damage to the lawn. Chains must be removed or kept on the patio when not in use. Stakes are to be screw type and strong enough for breed being chained. They are to be permanently kept in one location and located at the outer most edge of the mulch beds in the rear of the unit.

Please do not let your pets relive themselves in the front or side yards to prevent grass burnout.

Each year, residents are reminded to register their dogs and cats with the Village of Bloomingdale.
